In-Person at San Francisco State University, College of Ethnic Studies Sponsored by 5 Elements Youth Collective, Buong Loob Program, Filipino Mental Health Initiative-SF, Pin@y Educational Partnerships, and SF State's Responsive Education for Access, Community, and Hope (REACH) ABOUT THE EVENT The Filipinx Student Wellbeing Conference (FSWC) is a youth-led, mental wellness conference organized by current and former participants of the Buong Loob: Filipinx Student Wellness Program. We aim to create courageous learning spaces for Filipina/o/x and Filipina/o/x American identified high schoolers to discuss topics related to Filipinx cultural values, identity, mental health stigma while centering the student experience. This free event is open to students who: 1) Identify as Filipina/o/x or Filipina/o/x American 2) Are in 9th/10th/11th/12th grade 3) Attend high school in the SF Bay Area HISTORY Established in 2022, the Filipinx Student Wellbeing Conference (FSWC) is an annual mental health education event for Filipino and Filipina/o/x American high school students in the San Francisco Bay Area. The event is planned, led and organized by student leaders of the Youth Contingency where they engage in community-based research to assess the wellness needs of their peers to plan the conference. The Filipinx Student Wellbeing Conference aims to provide a platform for discussions on Filipinx cultural values, identity, and mental health stigma, emphasizing the student experience. Students will use their research findings to plan our annual "Filipinx Student Wellbeing Conference," a youth-led mental health education event organized in conjunction with participants of the Buong Loob: Filipinx Student Wellness program.
