What does "mental health" mean to you? Why is it important for us as Filipinxs/Filipinx Americans to normalize discussions around wellness and mental health in our community?

Mental health is the intersectionality of body, mind, and spirit, a balance of emotions and wellness. This influences our self-love, interpersonal relationships, and connection to the world around us. In discussing mental health issues in our community, we decolonize our psyche and heal intergenerationally by addressing bio-psycho-social influences. We can then holistically understand the grace in our grief, the power in our resilience, and strength in supporting one another. Creating safe spaces to acknowledge, reflect, and explore our mental health is an act of love.
